QPC needs assemblers to terminate fiber optic cable, assemble fiber optic connectors, and produce customized fiber optic cable assemblies for our customers. The hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
The pay for this position ranges from $16 to $17/hour, based on experience. Benefits include: paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and medical insurance (partial company payment of employee medical insurance premium and full company payment of employee dental and vision insurance premiums).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verifying materials received with the work order
- Measuring, cutting, and stripping the fiber cable
- Terminating the fiber to the connector with epoxy
- Heating and curing the connection
- Crimping and polishing (hand and/or machine)
- Optical testing
- Heat shrinking/labeling
- Packaging
Requirements:
- Minimum Education: high school diploma or GED
- Read, write, and speak English
- Understand engineering drawings and diagrams
- Able to assemble products or sub-assemblies according to written work instructions
- Basic math skills
- Dependable with a flexible “can-do” attitude
- A minimum of one year work of experience in a similar role or in the medical, electronics, jewelry, tailoring, or ceramic arts fields
